Artwork Help

Need help getting artwork ready for print? We check files, fix common issues and prepare design work for local businesses in Randfontein and the West Rand. Whether you are starting from scratch or sending a file that is nearly there, we make the process practical and clear.

Start With What You Have

Send us the artwork file you already have, even if you are not sure it is correct. We work with PDFs, JPGs, PNGs and office files, then check whether the size, colours and layout suit the product you want printed. If you are ordering business cards, flyers, posters, banners or stickers, the setup needs to match the finished size so trims and folds do not cut off important information.

If you are based in Randfontein CBD, Greenhills, Toekomsrus or Mohlakeng, you can use the enquiry form on our contact page and tell us what you need printed. Mention the item, quantity, size and when you need it. That helps us advise whether the file is ready or needs adjustments before print.

  • Tell us the final size in millimetres or metres where needed.
  • Include your logo, wording and any photos you want used.
  • Let us know if you need same-day digital printing.
  • Say whether the artwork is for indoor or outdoor use.

What We Check Before Printing

Artwork problems often come from small things that only show up once a job is printed. We look at resolution, bleed, colour mode, font handling and whether images are sharp enough for the size you want. A file that looks fine on a phone may print soft or cropped, so we check it properly before it goes to production.

For West Rand businesses in Krugersdorp, Westonaria, Mogale City and Roodepoort, quick-turnaround work is common, especially when you need signs, event flyers or sticker sheets on short notice. Load-shedding and power interruptions can slow things down, so it helps when files arrive complete and clear. That saves time for everyone and keeps the job moving.

  • Resolution should be high enough for print, not just for screen use.
  • Text must be readable at the final size.
  • Colours may shift slightly between screen and print.
  • Black backgrounds and solid blocks need careful handling.

When You Need Design From Scratch

If you do not have artwork yet, we can help with layout and preparation for print. That includes logo refreshes, business card design, flyer design, poster design, banner artwork, sticker design, menu layout, brochure layout and form design. We also assist with print ready artwork and artwork redraws when you have a rough file, an old scan, or a picture of a printed piece that needs to be recreated.

This is useful for new businesses in the Randfontein area as well as established teams that need a cleaner, more professional look. If your current material is dated, cramped or hard to read, we can tidy the layout and keep the message simple. Bianca in client services and Anele in design often work together to make sure the brief is clear before the final file is prepared.

How To Send a Useful Brief

The clearer your brief, the faster we can help. A short note with the basics is usually enough. You do not need a long explanation, but it helps to be specific about what the print item must do and who it is for.

Use this checklist when you send your request through the enquiry form:

  • Business name and contact person.
  • Product type, such as flyer, banner, sticker or menu.
  • Finished size and quantity.
  • Wording that must appear exactly as written.
  • Any logos, photos or brand colours you want used.
  • Whether you need proofing updates before printing.

Thabo Johannes Mokoena oversees the business side, while Lerato Ndlovu manages production and Willem van Zyl handles print operation checks. That means your brief gets looked at by people who understand both design and the pressroom, not only the artwork itself.

Proofs, Changes and Final Approval

Before we print, we can issue proofing updates so you can check the layout, spelling and basic placement. This step matters, especially for business cards and menus where one small error can cost you extra time and money. Please read every proof carefully, including telephone numbers, addresses and opening hours. A missing digit or a wrong word is a common mistake, and it is easier to correct before printing than after.

When you reply to a proof, keep your changes direct. Say what must move, what must be removed, and what text must be replaced. If you are unsure about spacing or picture choice, ask us to suggest an option that prints well. Kagiso Molefe and Megan Botha often help clients finish off the practical side of a job so it is ready for production without confusion.

Common Artwork Problems We Fix

Many print jobs come in with simple issues that can still be corrected. If your file is blurry, cut off, too dark or saved in the wrong format, we will advise what needs to change. Sometimes the fix is quick, sometimes we need to redraw the content so it prints cleanly on the final item.

These are the most common fixes we handle:

  • Resizing artwork to the correct print dimensions.
  • Redrawing logos or scanned graphics.
  • Adjusting layout for folds, trims and safe margins.
  • Cleaning up text, alignment and spacing.
  • Updating proofs after client changes.

For outdoor banners and stickers, we also check that the wording can be read from the right distance. A design that works on paper may not work on a roadside banner in Roodepoort or a shopfront in Mogale City, so we look at practical visibility as well as the file itself.

Questions we get asked

What file format should I send for artwork help?

Send the best file you have through the enquiry form. PDFs are usually easiest for print, but we can also assess JPG, PNG or office files and tell you if changes are needed.

Can you help if my logo is old or low quality?

Yes. We can redraw or refresh logos where needed, then prepare them for print so they reproduce cleanly on cards, flyers, banners and stickers.

Do you offer same-day help for urgent print jobs?

We do our best to assist with urgent digital print work in Randfontein and nearby West Rand areas, subject to file quality, workload and the time needed for proof approval.
